I posted some pictures in the Gallery of my Max IV with home made pontoons. It can now haul over 700 pounds in the water. The Pontoons are made from 8 inch PIP water pipe (80 psi) with 4 100 psi caps glued on. The pontoons pivot off the roll cage and are pinned to the roll cage using 5/16 " grade 5 pins through steel strut. I used 5/16" all thread for U-bolts around pontoons and ran plastic tubing around U-bolts and a block of rubber between the pontoon and the strut. The pontoons are 9 feet long. It works really well, I float much higher and is very stable on deep water

Looks like that solved your flotation and stability problem. As a bonus they are probably easy to remove if you aren't going swimming.Comment

Yeah, they come completely off very easily. Around here they would get broken off in the rocks. Even in the water I have to look for big rocks that might be lurking under the waters surface. It is fun running in deep water.Comment
