  • Driven Clutch Spring replacement

I need to replace my spring and slide buttons on my Comet driven clutch for my Max ll. Is a procedure available for this?

Welcome to the site Ajax. Here is a video I found for you. This is slightly different from the Comet 780 setup, but the concept is the same.

The comet-Salisbury manual is on this site also. Gives a good description with pics. I put a piece of all thread rod through the clutch with nuts and washers to keep parts from flying when it comes apart.

I went overboard and built this same thing can be done with allthread as mentioned, or in a press. Red spring is very tough but most others can be done by hand on the side of the trail in a pinch
