  • CVT clutch quesion.......

I screwed up and bought a 70's Multimobile 6x6 the other day with no engine, with the intention of putting a Kohler/Predator 13 hp 4 stroke in it.

I could kick myself in the butt for buying this thing but I'm determined to get it going!!!!

Problem is, I'm not sure if there's enough room, but I have a question for someone who knows about the CVT style of clutches.

Given the fact that the old engine is a 2 cycle, I realize that a 4 stroke isn't going to rev nearly as high, so with the DRIVEN clutch being for the original engine what do I need to put on my new 13 hp Predator, from Harbor Freight?

You can refer to the Jacks Small engines Website as that's where I'm probably going to buy it.

Welcome to the site Rodbuilder. It would be helpful to post a picture of your driven clutch so we can see what kind it is.

Agree, a pic would help for ideas.

Most will tell you that a 2 stroke driven needs to be changed out due to spring and ramp angle, however I have always had good luck running them with a 4 stroke. I would give it a try and make a change later if you are not happy with the performance
