    • Hello, My name is Bob, just joined recently and am looking for a new project. I don`t currently have any amphibious atvs but do a couple of golf carts in various stages of completion. I would like to thank Amphiman1 for the tour and putting up with my many questions. Once I find that project I will try and get some photos in, Amphiman said I could use his camera! Take care

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

        • Hi All, I joined at Christmas time and my log along with others was lost. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada and own 97 Argo Conquest. I am the process of installing Argo style rubber super tracks. This has not been done before on this model so this is a learning curve. The biggest problen is under body clearance. So tire size is critical. Will keep you posted on the process.

              • Hello out there. I'm a newby to this forum and to the 6x6 world. I just bought an ARGO Bigfoot with tracks and I'm very pleased with it so far. I took it out and had no problem whatever transversing through land, mud, ice, slushy drifts up to 3' deep. I didn't venture out onto the frozen but melting pond. If I broke thru the ice I wasn't sure I could climb back out. I did discover that I need to build a cab if I want my wife to ride, and I need to add a foot pedal to hook up the throttle to instead of the painful twisting action. I know, you young guys can't imagine what could possibly cause pain by twisting the throttle! I truly do hope you never find out but arthritis does bad things to joints and after 20 minutes I found I had to stop. Any advice in accomplishing this would be appreciated. Also, what is a "tag" and a a "trackback"
Thanks, I am happy to find such an interesting web site.

                • If the twist grip throttle is aggravating your wrist there is a thumb throttle setup for the argos. One of the members on the site had one on his machine. Lance: Lifloid site name. Here is a picture of the setup. This may work better for your hand.

                  • Thumb throttle

That's a great idea! Much better than trying to put a foot pedal in a cramped space.
                    Thanks, Terry

                    • I've been lurking for some time and have really been enjoying the forums. Most folks come to the ATV world with a little experience. I followed life long dream and moved to Alaska back in 2006. Last year I bought myself a 2009 Argo 6x6 Frontier. Please forgive the stupid questions in advance, but I'm running solo. Nice to meet you all!

                      • Welcome to the site AKMoose. Well, welcome to the posting side anyways No Q's are stupid Q's, because it's better to ask than to get stuck in a remote area. You aren't quite alone, there are quite a few AK members here, post on the local 6x6 thread and you may find fellow Argo-ers closer than you'd expect. (Of course if you're in one of the more remote areas they may not be THAT close, but that's a small price for such a beautiful landscape )

                        • I've been stalking around this site for a while now. Great site and lots of very usable information. I bought an Argo Vanguard 8 wheeler, 16 Hp Vanguard engine a while ago. Had to replace axle bearings and seals on all axles. Not such a large job after reading about it on this site.

                              • Aussie Iron. Welcome to the forum. Just out of curiosity do you belong to any of the manufacturing forums on the web? Seems I have seen your user name there.
