Glad to see another old school racer join us! Glad you got the bumpkin back! Hope to see you at Ashtabula next year with this machine. I know Steve was on the verge of having it ready to run in May so it must be pretty complete Sorry Steve had to give you a little jab there.
Dave when you go to pick it(Bumpkin) up from Steve take a camera for a AirBud shot, he says his cattle can not operate a camera.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Hello everyone,
This is Joel O. checking in from SW Pennsylvania. I'm currently working for Med-Trans, as a helicopter pilot flying Air Medical. My job has me traveling all over the United States. I've been riding quads, but want to get into a 6x6, or 8x8. And as you know (happy wife, happy life) has suggested I go take one for a ride before i drop a considerable sum on a new one. Got to test drive a Argo 8x8 avenger, but it was a 5 minute demo, where i was only a passenger. So if one or more of you nice gentleman are in the SW Pennsylvania area and wouldn't mind my wife and I going along for a ride, please contact me helotrash@yahoo.com I have a farm and tons of land, and paths to ride if you would like to come to my area. I will provide gas, drinks, if you like to shoot, guns, and food. Or I'm willing to travel. My job has me for the majority in Akron, Ohio, Sparta Tennesse, and Amarillo Texas. Thank you in advance
To bad you could not make the Busco ride, there was a 700 Avenger and a 750 Avenger running loose.....plus Max II and Max 4 machines(some stock and some modified), Attex springer, Attex modified slightly from original, Hustler a scrambler and a Bigfoot Argo, and John on his quad: we have got to get that guy's scrambler squared away!
If you have not seen the videos of the Busco ride you need to check it out. You would have had plenty of opportunity to drive any and all machines.
Good luck on finding you a machine.

Welcome helotrash. You say your in SW Pa. like close to Pittsburgh? There is a couple of members in and around that area one being liflod. Perhaps he will chime in and offer his assistance but being polite I cannot speak for him.
Hope you decide to get into this hobby sport as it is somewhat unique in the atv world.
Good morning.
I own a 2001 Bigfoot, bought it spring of '07 from a fellow that only put on 25 hours, he kept getting stuck (really!!) and ran the battery down, etc. came with super tracks and regular tires and wheels, that had never been installed, winch, pump, cabin cover, etc... Great deal. The fuel was varnished right through to the carb which I paid a small engine shop to clean. That did not work out good, so I installed a new carb. There was still hesitation, so, changed the pump. I kept suspecting problem with fuel supply, eventhough we had emptied and slushed the tank, added carb and fuel cleaner, etc.
I finally removed the tank, changed the fuel line and cleaned the pick-up tube and all is fine now.
I came to this forum to get wisdom from the group and the more experienced owners. Will be installing a home made plow soon and will need help with that. Also looking at changing the doors, from zip up to swing out.
Hope to get help from the experienced.
Welcome to the forum. Glad to hear that you finally got your Argo Bigfoot all lined out. I know that was probably very frustrating for a while was,nt it?

Mudbug, yeah, frustrating, but I did steal that thing, so, in the end, its a learning curve I was willing to go through.
Now, all I've got to do is get the low on there before the snow flies and stays on the ground; I imagine thatwill happen before month end, but then again, who knows, we got summer in September this year.

Hi,
My name is Ridge. I live in Southern Maryland. I have a MAX II-500T and a Suzuki LT F-160M 4x4.
1- I would like to make my MAX as quiet as possible. It has the old stock exhaust. The engine is a 16 HP Briggs & Stratton. Any ideas????
2- Any good 4x4 sites recommended for my Suzuki issues.
I grew up around Attex's and Max 6wheelers and have finally got a hold of an Attex. I grew up in Buffalo, NY but have since moved to Roanoke, VA. It kind of stinks now because I was only short drive away from Recreative Industries. It was my brother's Attex, quite running and he hasn't done a thing with it for years now. Don't really know what model Attex it is and was amaized to find out how many different model Attex's there were. I know it has a 2 cylinder two stroke, don't know if it is original or not and I know the front right axle is bent. I am actually looking forward to doing a mild restoration on it, was thinking about using that 16 HP Power Max engine to get it up and running. Anyways I'm sure I will need a bunch of help when my Attex project gets under way and look forward to all the helpful advice. My goals with it are to just get it running properly and get at least 30mph out of it.
Thanks,
Jon

Hi Ridge, welcome to the site. For your Max to quieten it down call the manufacturer (Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511) and get their internal exhaust along with the heat shielding and cool air intake. It makes a world of difference. I did mine this way and even with the 30HP motor it is super quiet. Here's a picture.
New Attex owner!

Jon, welcome to the site. While it may be a bummer to now be so far away from Recreative Industries you are very close to about a dozen people on this site and are very close to a place where we all ride twice a year called Busco Beach in Goldsboro, NC. Look in the trail ride forum for video and pictures of our last ride. When you get your Attex going come join us and put it to the test.
