  • Yo my cousins

My ATV is either a Cousin or a slice of a 6x6? It's a 3cyl kubota powered Motorcycle. Eventually my avitar will show up. That's the type of bike Im using. It will be my Tribota (Triumph + Kubota) Tiger Diesel.

What brings me here is we have several things in common

    . Cvt clutches
    . Diesel engines
. Like to customize / Fabricate
    . We're a bit crazy.

Mostly for me it's the bonds between us in the area of CVT's on a diesel engine that brings me here. Hope I can help someone in return for any advice ya'll can offer me.

      • My son was given a Sperry Rand 295b Wedge. He has it running but we need to replace the Tillison impulse carb. We have be told that you can use a Mukuni float type carb on the 295 JLO and we need to know which one and if there is an adapter plate to mount the carb on the engine.

            • Hello members.
Just joined the 6x6 forum. I am from Winnipeg, mb Canada. Been snowmobiling and riding an atv for a number of years.
And have sold the lot, moved up to one unit, a used 2007 Argo 700 Avenger. Going over it right now to ensure all is greased up but anyone know how to easily get at the inner bearing under the rad.
Haven't found it yet but I know it is there. Anyways most likely will have more questions later. All the best ArgoBill.

              • Hi, I just joined this group, my name is Clyde. I live in NC. I haven't purchased one yet but bargaining for a max II, older model. Been reading threads for a couple of weeks now, looking like you have alot of good information here. Planning on using this one for hunting mainly, so going to have to do some mods to max to work for hunting. I have never owned one but have always liked them. I am going to need all the help I can get, lol. Hope to see you around!

                • You guys are on the right site. Lot of good information here. I use my maxll for hunting. Since I have owned my max (the buck truck), I have not done any dragging. I carry more gear than I would ever need. As far as Argos go. I can't help you but many others will chime in welcome to 6x6 world.

I have grown up with 6 wheelers ever since I can remember and we have lots of them (they definitely don't all run). We have been members on this site for a bunch of years and I forgot the password and never posted anything so here we are now. We know a bunch of you now but for those we don't I hope we get to meet you one day

                          • Hi everyone,

I remember being in junior high and seeing one of these six wheeled machines in a magazine ad as I gazed at the dinosaurs visible just outside the window...

My entire life I've always been "too busy" to get one, but have realized if I don't do it soon, I won't ever have the chance. BUT...I really don't know what I'm in for. Any comments anyone would like to make, or info anyone would like to provide will be welcomed.

First...I'm worried these are more of a "project" than a ride. I want something that's going to start and run and not be broken down or requiring adjustment or parts replacements all the time... Am I barking up the wrong ATV?

Second, How noisy are they? Am I going to have to wear uncomfortable hearing protection to operate one of these?

And, finally WHERE do you take these to drive them around? Are they allowed on public lands, in the forest, etc?

Thanks for clearing up my complete clueless-ness.

                            • Hi Ted, welcome to the forum. AATVs are just like any other vehicle when it comes to getting a "project" if you buy used. There are some owners that take care of their machines and some that just beat on them without performing any maintenance. You will always take a chance of getting a project but the good news is that these are really simple to work on. If you buy new, you can expect to grease bearings and check fluids, tire pressure, etc on a regular basis but that should be about it.

As for how noisy they are, it depends on the machine but none of them have been loud enough that I have considered wearing hearing protection. If you get a low-geared Argo, the whine of the transmission gears is sometimes louder than the motor. If you get a Max II with an external muffler, the motor will be a little louder than others but none of them are bad.

Some parks restrict the width of a machine or require that it has a steering wheel for example so be sure to check the places you intend to ride before you buy just to make sure they don't have any restrictions. Other than that, you can drive them wherever you can take other 4x4 ATVs and more since they float

                              Welcome!

                              • Thanks for the prompt and great reply.

I will endeavor not to buy a project.

I'm in Santa Fe if anyone is near there...and has one...or wants to play with one...or knows where to go with one...

                                Thanks.
