Your best bet is to call the manufacturer. Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511 They're great people there and always willing to help. You could also put an ad in the wanted section here on the site.

    • Hello guys, my name is Herbert and I'm from Pointe Aux Chenes Louisiana (down in the swamp!) I'm a 7&7 truck driver for an oilfield equipment rental company and on my seven days off I get bored so I just picked up a super swamp fox from my cousin. First day I got it I put it in my bosses pond, things were great on the deep end, got into the shallow end and started playing in the mud and fried the belt which was already dry rotted. I have pics posted in the Other AATV's section.

      • Hi Herbert, welcome to the forums and congratulations on your recent purchase. When you say you fried the belt, you weren't kidding, I saw the pictures in your other thread.

            • New place up north required a vehicle like this ...

Hello everyone. My name is Mark. My wife and I just bought our 40 acres of heaven in Central Minnesota. The cabin is on a mix of agricultural, woods & wetlands about evenly mixed. We started looking for a 4x4 ATV, and then saw a Max IV listed on Craigslist. That's when I found this forum. I tried to find as much as I could before buying, and this was really the ONLY place to learn everything I needed. We just got the Max IV two days ago, and the seller was kind enough to deliver it to me. Right after we got it, I broke the throttle cable because I hadn't already read the thread about how to unfreeze them. I was able to rig up a lawn mower throttle lever and take the kids for a spin but after ripping across the hayfield it would die. It started again, but kept doing that until finally it wouldn't start up again. It was a lot of fun while it lasted and seemed to run well. We pushed it to the garage and parked it. I'm planning to do a carb rebuild and replace the throttle cable wire. After that I'm going to clean and degrease and adjust the chains since they are caked with grease, mud, leaves and ice. Later on I'll think about adding on a roll cage and windshield, and then reupholster the seats. I have no worries that I'll find all the info I need to do any repairs and improvements right here here at 6x6world. I'm really looking forward to chatting with you all and I'll upload pics when I can.

                • Hello! I'm Brett and I live in NY. I was searching on line for information on a Rockwell JLO snowmobile engine and this site came up, so I thought I'd look around a little. I see some pretty cool stuff on here! When I was a kid my dad bought a Muscateer 6x6 that I rode literally every day, winter, summer, spring, and fall. He also had a Coot Red Baron mini dune buggy that we tried a few different engines in through the years. I recently located one of those for sale - it's the first one I've seen since dad got rid of the one he had way back when! I've thought about picking it up just for old times sake. I'd like to find some info on those in the future. My dad also sold New Holland farm equipment back then and I always wanted to try one of their "Wedge" 6x6 they built, but I couldn't talk him into getting one of those! I found a few pictures of those on here already too. I'm big into vintage snowmobiles now - mostly racing them, but this 6x6 thing looks pretty interesting also. I need another hobby like I need a hole in the head, but then again you can't have too many toys! LOL! I'll have to look for a 6x6 get-together this summer either in southern NY or northern PA just to check it out, it looks like fun! I have a Polaris RZR now that my wife and I absolutely love and we run that a lot in the summer. For anyone interested, I do a lot of trail riding at Tall Pines ATV Park in Andover, NY. Fisher's ATV World recently aired a show about it, and I think there are clips of it on their web site. The trails there are fabulous! Maybe I can meet up with some members there this summer? Thanks for the great site, and I'm looking forward to spending some time on here!

                  • Hi Brett, welcome to the forums and thank you for a great introduciton. You have a lot of history growing up with ATVs. It would be cool to find a Muscateer and restore it but be careful, as you already alluded to in your post, these are as addictive as your snowmobiles.

                    • Hello all. Nice to be aboard. I originally became a member to snoop around, gather some info and see if I would make the switch from 4X4 to 6X6ing. Yep is the answer. I'm hooked much to my wifes dismay....

Running a 85 argo, ya she's old, but spotless, about 60hrs and was a great deal. I do however fear that her greated enemy is the lack of use. It seems that lack of use is a great enemy...well and a previous owner that decided to tinker and knew nothing about motors.... So repairing I go...

                      • Hi Simpson217, welcome to the site. I can't believe your Argo only had 60 hours. That is incredible. Congratulations on making the switch to the 6x6 World.

Hi Brett, we sometimes ride down near Bolivar, NY. You should come and join us for some AATVing! We'll get you hooked, and trust me, the 6 wheeler addiction is possibly the strongest addiction known to man, and the only known cure for it is to buy more of them!

I live in Whitesville, about 20 miles or so from Bolivar. Where in Bolivar do you go? Have you been to Tall Pines? If not you should check it out some time. I run into some 6x6's now and then on the trails there.
