  • Hello everyone

    8footedFloatGoat, that's a cool user name
JAM, congratulations on the Max II. Upload some pictures of it to the gallery if you have any.
Dale, sounds like you got the best accessory available for that Argo (the sticker) Welcome to the site.
Wade, sounds like you that was a good trade for your Max. Hopefully you will find the time to get it going by hunting season. Keep us updated.
Dredundee, where in SC are you from? You need to come ride with us the weekend of October 9 in Goldsboro, NC at Busco Beach. It is worth the drive and it will be the most 6x6 and 8x8 ATVs you have seen in this area. Check out the trail ride forum on this site for more info.

    Welcome again to you all!

    • Just a few words to introduce myself. I own ATVs but recently purchase a MaxII And it is by far the fastest of all my ATVs. However, I have a problem since I purchase the Max and it is govern by a governor and constantly hunts on idle. I have not rebuilt the carb yet. I am going to order a kit from 6x6 (Vanguard Briggs & stratton 16HP. The machine was detailed by me soon as I bought it and found it very dirty with lots of grass around the axles. And loose chains. I have lots of work to do yet but tried it on the river and works excellent vis the hunting. Also one axle has a leak. And, where can I buy brown paint to get all the homemade como job the previous owner tried? Thanks every one.

      • Hi dually, welcome to the site. For the paint it would be best to pressure wash all of the old paint off. Nothing sticks very well to HDPE and eventually you will have to cover it up again when the paint flakes off in spots. For the leaky axle you can replace the bearing and clean the flanges really well making sure that grease gets all the way around the bearing. Check the how-to section of the site for a bearing replacement article that has lots of pictures. On the idle issue you may want to just clean the carb really well and set everything back to factory settings. Start there and then troubleshoot it. Good luck with your Max.

        • hello I just got a max II don't know the year or how to find out. I live in central,pa and drove 7 hour round trip to get it but I really wanted one. There is some problems I'm trying to figure them out. Is there anyway to get a book on one?

          • Hi tsdarby, welcome to the site. To figure out the year, take the serial number typically stamped on the plaque on the dash on newer models and call the manufacturer: Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511. They can tell you the year based on that. They also have a manual but it really isn't a big help on troubleshooting. Whatever problems you are having, try searching the site here first. If your problem hasn't been addressed before just start a new thread with whatever problems you are having in the Max forum here on the site and someone can try to help you there.

                    • Hello Timothy. Welcome to the site and congratulations on your Buffalo. You really don't see many of them so we would definitely enjoy some video. Where are you located? You can check the "Local 6x6 World Members" forum here on the site and see if there is anyone near you. You never know when another 6x6 World member will be right down the street from you.

                        • Hi, Timothy. I've got a Buffalo, too. Don't know how I got along without one before. A friend of mine took a video of it swimming, but the quality is really bad, so I'm not sure it has any value. I'm in Portland, Maine.

                              • Hello everyone,

I just bought a new Argo 750 HDi. I've never had one before, this is my first experience with this type of machine. My son and I took it to the mountains (an area by a town called Cadomin in the Alberta Rockies) yesterday for a trial run. What a blast! I was impressed how easily the machine made it over nasty rocky/muddy/flooded trails. Anyway, hello!
