I have a green poly thunderchief & would like to fix some cracks. can I use goo made with Abs for repair or can I make goo with poly? Thank's

If it's a Thunderchief it's made of ABS. The Attex company did not make poly bodies until after they discontinued the Thunderchief. You can make the goo from ABS and use it on ABS. I think you have to weld the plastic if it's poly.

I don't believe there are any solvents you pick up at a hardware store to melt poly but I could be mistaken. All poly repairs I've seen discussed on this forum involved using heat to do the melting.

            Just to clarify things:

-The 1972-75 400 Chiefs and 440 Thunderchiefs, came in green and yellow and had ABS plastic bodies.

-The 1976 and newer 500 Superchiefs, 250 Spirits, 450 Tomahawks, and Lil Trucks were all poly (HDPE) bodies and came in green and yellow.
