Over the last few months I have converted 2 of my Attex machines to run the Argo axles. I can't post a link from my phone but a search for 1-1/4 Axle upgrade should find it. On my ST-400 based machine, I had to extend the splines on 2 axles by almost 2 inches and lost 2 inches of treadwidth overall. On my 4chain machine, I spaced all of the right side and left front inner bearings out by 2 inches from the frame and built 2inch wheel spacers for the left center and rear axles. This kept me from needing to extend the splines, and allowed me to keep the stock width of the machine.Last edited by racerone3; 03-27-2012, 08:32 PM.A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Thanks Guys,I will try and find that upgrade,as far as any machining that's not a issue, and the axles being removed were from my dual wheel setup and have very long studs so a spacer would be easy, now what hybrid sprockets did you use and chain combo, did you use the Argo double seal outer set up,what would you think about the HDI bearings for the hull?I intend to use the machine this summer with the stock Attex setup and amass the components for a winter upgrade one of many planned,so I have the time to collect parts and also disassemble my Avenger,I know some people are saying WHY would I go to this extent for a old machine but you must understand that I have wanted a Attex since I was young, time, family, job, and time constraints put it on the back burner and then boom they were out of business, and in Ontario there just weren't any, family is grown, job is something I do for fun when I want, time constraints are few,the Avenger is a fine machine and will always be the workhorse at the cottage,I need fun I need something to make the adrenaline flow and something not seen round here anyway, serious engine upgrade in the future and it will be a two stroke.NCT

The axles in my Li'l Truck are 1 and 1/4 inch and splinned. Similar to installing the Argo axles. My modified Superchief has the same upgrade inside the machine and a full suspension outside the tub. Whipper makes both upgrade kits for 2nd and 3rd ganeration Attexes.

I'll be driving about 400 miles myself. We have/had people travel much further than that. It's worth it!Banned
