This one is my buddy Bart right after he splashes down in a creek...
These are just a couple from our ride in an old burned forest area, we found a whole bunch of trails and just spent hours following them all. They are all from diamond drilling in the winter, but make awesome argo roads in the summer...

Spare Parts!! wonder why they cut the bottom out of them?
Like Plott Hound suggested these are likely associated to some form of Government and my guess is that the bottoms were cut out to prevent the staff from taking them into the water. And no doubt this was after some staff member was caught hunting or fishing when they should have been working....Just a guess though. What a waste !
I see you have the New Argo tires on the machine..how do you like the water speed? They do great in mud also.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

We only ran the tires for a few miles (we both have the same Avengers) Since everything here is swamp, water and or mud and bog we run the rubber tracks all the time. My Avenger has the 3.3 ratio tranny (lower) than Bart's and will actually swim very well. The only catch is that you use forward gear and you swim in reverse!! The lower tranny gearing allows more track speed in the water and I get just about the same speed as the tires. Probably 2/3 anyway. It's enough that i don't have to carry an outboard unless I am going fishing for the day.
I don't think my tires will see the ground again, the tracks are 10 times better for my use around here. I have not been stuck since I put them on and trust me we go where we shouldn't lol!

Have been a member for awhile usually read posts and check out others Argos. Thought I would post some photos of my Avenger at work during this years moose hunt. I built this set up a couple of years ago in an effort to make lifting moose quarters a little easier. Enjoy the site and will try to post a little more often.
