  • Slimpicken. Dude, that's awesome! What does it have for an exhaust muffler?

    • I want to be able to use the tracks on these tires. I guess I could keep a set of the runnamucks on rims for use with the tracks.

      Slim

It has a small oval auto muffler that is fitted to the regular exhaust.

      A few more pics.

      • Slimpickin that thing is so bad a$$ i think you should start your own thread on details about your baby, cause i have so many questions lol is it carb or efi version? if carb is it just using stock fuel pump? are you using stock flywheel/starter or did it have to modified? do you just have a stub shaft coming off the flywheel with your stock clutch put on it? are you running stock alternator? sorry for all the questions i am just so envious that i want to do the swap too lol

I second that, Check out the Frontiers. I would have nothing but them on my Conquest now.

It has a carb and I believe it is about a 86 model sprint. I'm not sure if the fuel pump is stock, but the original on the gas tank is still there and I do plug it in to push fuel up if it's been sitting for a while. Saves on the starter. I believe it is a stock flywheel and starter with a machined adapter plate bolted to the flywheel. I'm not sure if the clutch is a 1 inch or 1 and a quarter. I think it's a stock alternator, but I would have to have another look. It hasn't given me any trouble.
I've had this thing up to 35 mph measured with my Garmin GPS and I can spin the tires on hard pack in low gear. I only use high if the trail is fairly smooth. My son is the only person other than me to drive it. It would be easy to over rev or get going to fast for conditions, and I doubt if the wreck would be pretty.

                          • Very nice looking Argo. It looks cool seeing an older model with the Rawhide III tires on it.

                            • Mike, I wish the rest of the machine was in as good of shape as the tires, it seems the previous owner must have neglegted to do any maintenance for years, then bought new tires and sold it to me
