My journey began a couple of months ago and as I mentioned in the new members introduction thread with a KID that was tuned up, chains replaced, bearings replaced and then backed of a trailer and into a shed where it stayed for over 20 years, never to be started, moved or seen by many since. My buddy Joe and I come-a-longed it onto a trailer and brought it to its new home in northern Oklahoma. When we got it home we didn't have anything to attach the come-a-long to in my garage so we had to leave it on the trailer until we learned how to get it in neutral or got it to run so we could back it off. A new battery and getting the #2 cylinder unstuck, oils, and compression we could get it to turn over and noticed it trying to move, so we took it back to my garage and I bumped it down the trailer. After removing, cleaning and reinstallation of the fuel tank and carburetor we had no spark. After getting some guidance and help from a local legend with Wisconsin engines we replaced points and condenser, coil and plug wires and as easy as that she fired off and purred like a kitten. All I have done since is make new hinges on the back of deck, installed new fuel lines, fuel filters, electric fuel pump, put a battery box in as well as bilge pump. Replaced both headlights and grommets and cut a wooden bench seat to fit. I plan on changing all the oils, making some light bars for the top and possibly the front, making a new canopy top and painting a different color although the Cat yellow is growing on me. I have struggled finding part replacements for everything but have been able to figure some things out with help from this site, friends, old timers, parts people at local business' and the internet and will gladly pass any information I have garnered. I will attempt to add some pictures and then figure out how to add a short video of her maiden voyage into a pond. (only had 1 small leak)
