    Admiral front chain tension ?

    Hey guys how’s everyone doing?

    I’m currently doing a complete rebuild of a 2011 750 hdi 8x8
My question is how tight is to tight on the front chains?
Both sides are like super tight ! I got the front left on but with the help of unbolting the tranny and a some c clamps , it’s on but oh boy it’s so tight there’s no slack what do ever , I can’t turn the axle by hand at all but rather with a pry bar in between the lug bolts on the spindle .
Just seems to tight , is this ok for brand new chains or am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance

ya moose, you got an issue there.those chains should not be that tight, your gonna create some damage.unless theres an issue with the chain being not quite right you can try loosening off the nuts and bolts holding the outer (wheel side) bearing retainers. then tighten them back up and see if you gained any slack.

O will try that , I have tried 3 different types of chains , tsubaki, stronghold and even cheap princess auto brand , all the same ,
Half link to much slack and I wasn’t planning on keeping the half link just thought I’d try

Is there any way to adjust the transmission? Say like alignment wise?

Those front double 50 chains normally run pretty loose. I would run them loose with the half link (make sure they will work that way before you go on a trek) and then remove the half links after everything stretched just a little. If those chains are to tight you are going do some damage because the frame is designed to flex and a tight chain and a flexing frame= a broken chain or a damaged sprocket. When ever I replace a chain I do it the painful way of counting every link two or three times to make sure I get the same number of links back on the machine.

Do you have 24 or 25 tooth sprockets in there?

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Could be as simple as the sprockets being out of line and chains not straight. Good quality new chains could be snug but not stupid tight.
