No, you can still embed videos from an iphone but you have to use the full URL. You can't use the shortened "youtu.be" URL as that isn't the full location of the video. For example, this video that you posted above, the URL you used was "http://youtu.be/0otmN4VM_HY" If you click on that link though, you will get this URL: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0otmN4VM_HY&feature=youtu.be"
Click on the filmstrip button and paste that second URL in the form and it should embed fine:
