Apologies if there is an existing thread on this but I could not readily find one.
I have a 2022 Frontier 6x6 with only 70 miles on it. I went to shift it into gear while it was idling a bit higher than normal (just started and was warming up) and something ?gave? with the shifter and now it?s very sloppy.
I can still find gears and it seems to function fine once in gear but the shifter knob rotated around and is very loose. There does not appear to be anything loose or broken where the shifter enters the trans.
Any thoughts on what happened here and what the fix will require?
I had a similar issue 10 or so years back, as I recall there was an internal failure on a bearing on the transmission main shaft. I would get that machine back to the dealer. Not sure if there will be a warranty on a two year old machine but maybe they can work and angle for warranty coverage.
