That is a great video Dan and Haspin is an incredibly diverse and rugged off road park. I was glad to see Matt brought so many machines with Vendettas. I also agree with your assessment of tire size, ground clearance and and lower psi which results in sidewall flex and a flattening out of the tread. I am going to question your comment about aggressive driving and Drew's statement regarding the Vendetta seeming to clean out and work a little better. I am not calling these statements wrong but ask you to watch a short video that may make you rethink what you know about how a tire performs off road. I now owning a set of Vendettas and an old Hustler 980 with low gearing has made me reevaluate my understanding of off road tires especially for an amphib. You need to realize that most deep lug mud tires are designed to work with higher tire speeds. Yes a big lug can grab and pull at lower speeds too but most are really designed to spin and throw the mud from the lug thus allowing the tire to "dig". Now aggressive driving and tire speed with deep lug tires is where it's at and I included almost a textbook example of a truck with big lug tires in the video. You will notice the forward motion and tire speed and amount of mud thrown. This is why typically to make a big lug tire work you need lots of horsepower. It also shows how quickly the motion can go from forward to downward. There are also bar type tires like old WWII military tires, AquaTorque and Skid Steer tires. These tires are designed for slow speeds but offer little flotation and will typically dig down like a big lug truck/ATV tire when they can no longer pull the vehicle forward. In sticky mud the Vendetta is a different animal. It uses a proven tread pattern, flotation and an advanced sidewall design to allow the tire to hold mud, flatten out and use the mud as a traction aid. I know this sound weird but take a look at the video and try to watch the different tire speeds. This is why I feel the Vendettas are a better tire than a tire with a big lug. I actually feel it offers better performance in mud than a big lug tire. Also given the fact it swims, works well in sand, rides nice and can take tracks what more could you ask for? As a disclaimer I could not remember whose machines had what tires so I just called them all Rawhides the video is not intended to dismiss other tires or machines capabilities but meant to show the dramatic difference in how the Vendetta works compared to how even I thought an off road tire should.

Hopefully this will make my assessment of the tires clearer as I obviously was not explaining them well enough in my previous attempts driving some to post irrelevant comments that had nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Vendettas, made in the USA and moving our country and hobby forward.

At 1:20 in the video, is it my absolute imagination, or is that "low RPM Max IV on Vendettas" getting pulled out of that little mudhole? I distinctly see a winch line. The "caked up" Max II seems to be doing just fine until the camera pans away just after that....

Sorry about that Mike, you are absolutely correct. That's what happens I guess when I try to steal clips from others videos. Thanks for taking the time to point that out and watch the video.

Don't thank me. I'm on propaganda watch, and this one's ripe.

I don't see anything different from the performance from the stock Argo AT189. Not saying the Argo tire is better just I don't think these Vendettas are anything special. The winch line proves that.

    aaalright...come on now

the the tire goes up +1 inch in diameter AND +2 or +4 inches in width. This kind of improvement is right in line with jumping UP from an argo at189 24x10x8 to a 25x12x9. Jumping up again gets you to the Vendetta. Not to mention the improved tire manufacturer and quality (I can only presume anyway). I like the argo tires as I have some, but if the Vendetta's would fit on my particular machine (old mudd-ox tub) and still clear tracks....I'd prefer to have those.

No tire is going to hold a candle to tracks (I know- giant newsflash), so it makes sense...to me anyway...to embrace a tire that works so well and is also very well suited for track use.
Not jumping on anyone's bandwagon. I just see it as very practical solution and a great option to have for our machines. Aggressive mud tires are cool, but not so much when they're not compatible w/track crossers.

How much do the Vendettas cost? I'm still torn between those and the Vampires. Cost may be the deciding factor. I don't mind paying more for anything that's made here if it's not too ridiculous.
What it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.
