Mark. Hello and welcome. The one thing I can tell you is is that you have a very rare machine. I don't know the exact number of machines manufactured but the reports I have heard are that there were only around a hundred or so built. Just out curiosity what part of the country did you aquire it?

Hi Mark and welcome to the site. Where are you located? I had heard that starcraft made the Sears Sportster, then decided to make one of thier own. I have pictures of my sears in my gallery. I wonder if the frame and drivetrain are the same?

I have heard through few different sources it was more like a production run of 54? or was it 57? Dang it, cant remember for sure but was in the 50's. It is the same company that makes the boats and rvs.

buggy man, the seat arangement is nearly the same but body looks nothing like so i donno if driveterain is the same or not.
54-57 made its gotta be worth something huh? can anyone direct me on how tight to make the chains? the chain resioners look home made to me. should the be on the top or bottom of the chain? right now the front tensioners are on the bottom part protecting the chain from riding on the tub, the back tensioners ar on top part of chain the opposite form the front. anyway im lost on the correct way. The machine is in good condition. Top body a lil rough but tub is sound. New 16 hp B&S vanguard conversion, new chains , sprockets , berings , wheels and tires, need body fixed a lil and painted. Old motor came with it guy says its good its a jlo from rockwell. the more imfo the better guys thanks so much
