    I actually thought it was the output bearing. I never considered the input bearing until thejunkman posted that possibility. George figured it out right away after we cracked the case. Thanks to all. You too Charlie. BTW, I picked up two cans of that Comet spray lube from manufacturer's supply. It's not cheap, but I figured I'd grab two while I had the opportunity. Question, where exactly should I spray it on the primary and secondary (other than the main shaft)?

    i keep the slider surfaces clean and lightly lubed, as-well-as the internal components of the primary (through the vent holes in the ramp cover)
    He who has not cruised the back country in a 6x6 , has not lived life to it's fullest
    A Mans level of mechanical education directly corresponds to the level pain suffered while getting it
