    • Hello fellow 6x6'rs I have been lurking here for a while thought I should join. There is a ton of great information at this site and great members. I recently picked up a Sierra Trail Boss with no motor. I have an old Skidoo with a 371 in it that I think I will transplant into the trail boss. Looking forward to asking some questions as my project moves along.

      • Welcome to the site.

eldy, congratulations on your "barn find" Argo.

waterman28, that Trail Boss should move along nicely with that motor. Good luck with the rebuild.

              • Hi sparks.Welcome to the best 6x6 site around.I have heard talk about that machine but i think it is cool.Bad paint job but it looks like it is well built and a lot tougher than plastic.I agree it probably started out as a hustler.

                • I will have to agree with the paint job but i can deal with that for now it needs some tweaking.... as for who made it ill have to take you're advise on that cause i assure you i don't know a thing about them.... Looks fairly simple to work on. I have some chain slack i need to deal with,(i know the aluminum floor wont last long if the chain drags on it) drive belt is to big,and i am thinking it needs a 4 stroke but i am counting on you guys for opinions on that one.

Did Hustler make an aluminum body??

                  • I don't think hustler made an aluminum body but who knows. If i had to guess i would say a sheet metal man made the body.Just a guess,I am a roofer and metal man.It has one of the best transmissions t20.The 4 stroke would be a lot smoother. You should have chain tentioner to tighten up the chains.

                    • As I said in one of your pictures that I commented on, this looks like someone took a Hustler 900 frame and drive train (the 440cc Kohler is a stock Hustler engine) and put together a home made body for it.

                      • Hi, new to this forum but have read many posts and received great info. Have a question about wether or not a digital gauge cluster from a newer avenger can be installed on a 07 avenger. Any help with this would be appreciated.
                        Thanks
