Thanks, I'm trying to get it wrapped up this winter and ready for gaming come spring. I didn't get the trans out as I had planned. I had my annual physical this morning (volunteer fire fighter) and my arm is sore from the tetanus shot. I have to work tomorrow and Friday, maybe Saturday so progress will slow a little. I don't have a sand blaster so wire wheels and cordless drills will be the main source of cleaning for now.

So I took a long winter break from working on this thing to finish a man cave room in my basement. Now I'm back at the resto project and I've got everything off but the sticks. The left stick is seized on the rod that runs through them and the frame rails. After I get it apart, I'm going to pursue the steering wheel conversion. I'll get some pics up as soon as I get some taken.

I used acetone down the sticks and down the side of the rod last time I had one really stuck. We had already used heat in combination with some good penetrating fluid and had no success. After a few acetone treatments and a week of sitting, the stick was free again.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

I cut the rod that holds the two rods in the frame. I was a little impatient and tired.

All it took was surprising a squad of guys and me getting lit up on my left side to know I needed a full inclosure.
    That thing is seriously badass.

Yeah, and I'm going back up against it in October. We're trying to build something bigger and better than the kart.

No marsh where we are going this year. Its an urban environment training area local to us. We are thinking more along the lines of import SUV beat up and looking the part of dirtbag east African militia.

After a long break I will soon be picking up on this again. I've been working part time at Advance Auto parts near my house and a guy came in a couple weeks ago to get parts for his Argo and we sparked up a conversation. I need to get a spot in the garage so I can start back on this thing. I did get the frame torn down and ready for sand blasting and powdercoating, but I wound up leaving it outside all winter so I have more surface rust to clean up. The tubs are behind the garage and I'm sure a nice nest for the wasps so I'm not touching them until fall lol.
