I also use the bait plugs, work great.
my max IV had the bait plugs in it when i bought it. first time i rode into the high grass fields behind my house, one got pulled out and before i knew it, i was sinking in the small pond that is on my property. LOL
I ordered caplugs from fastnel their control number is jnla1186 and part number 1130336 their discription is BP-3/4blackbtnplug they come in 100 pc bag for 5.97 cost me 8.36 including tax.
If you was using the same plugs that i put in this thread they can't come out unless they was not put in right to start with ,,(very easy to use) the cap plugs that come with the Max II and Max IV are very good at keeping out water but when they are taken out they are very rarely good enough to put back in .So thats where the Bait Plugs come in ,,when put in and the screw is turned -> to your right ,,2 full turns and then the latch flipped up or down or side ways it does not mater witch way you flip it. It will lock that plug in for good until you unlock that latch and turn it to your left 2 full turns ,,and then and only then it will come out . lol
I was going over redbrush in my buddys marsh this fall and had a caplug get ripped out,and almost sank my max.You have to watch them I guess no matter what you use.
Mike, as a boater, when I needed plugs I thought of and installed that type in my wolf. Honestly, I'm gonna probably remove it and fill in the hole, it doesn't drain all the way, because of the "tube" of the plate the plugs threads into, that stickes out on the inside of the tub, plus the fact it has to be put up to the flat back of the tub. (I am going to try cutting a hole flush with the tub on the bottom of that tube, should still seal but maybe drain the last bit out too?) I think I'll put the bait well plugs in, but from the inside, little tougher to get too but wont get snagged. As long as I dont back one into a rock and push it out Guess there's no perfect plug, pick your poison.
