I just purchased a new Frontier 650 , 8X8 with reversible rims and Adair 14 inch tracks. I was wondering how most guys are running the wheels with the tracks on. Dished out which makes the machine wider or dished in making the overall machine narrower. It looks like they can be run either way. I will only be running the tracks in the snow. Thanks

fish .. i've seen lots of argo 8x8 's with tracks and they perform well . what type are they ? sounds like in or out works , main thing if turned in make sure they don't rub the tub . and you may get less snow thrown on you also . where you live ? jboy -
Fishgo, something to note, when you install your tracks, the inner hinge bolt , you want to install that with the threads and the nylock lock nut closest to the tub. This way if the bolt were to come loose , when it walks off it doesn’t damage your tub. It usually never happens but it’s a detail on installation to be aware of. Good luck with new machine.Comment

They are Adair 14 inch tracks, I also have the ice cleats if I want to put them on. The tracks were mounted at the dealer. I live in NW Iowa.Comment

hope you get lot's of good snow this winter . i'm in no. va in the shenendoah valley . we get a few good ones some winters . driving around in snow is alot cleaner than thick , gooey mud !! all are fun . johnboy va.Comment

The Adairs are designed so they can be run without extensions and most guys run them in, if you get the winter kit you may wish to run rims out depending on the winter kit you get.Originally posted by fishgo28 View Postsigpic

You can run Adair's with just a 5/16" spacer on each wheel and not have an issue. As has already been stated your machine will be narrower without reversing the rims. How ever I would like to point out that under certain extreme conditions (I have been in a lot of them) The tracks can twist on the tires and come close to or bite the tub and damage your tub. For this reason if I have an options I would always run the tracks with the wheels reversed even through this is a limitation on tight trails.
