Hello all and thanks for your time to read this. I have a 95 Vanguard as well as a 01 Bigfoot. I am looking to purchase bearings and chains for both and have been doing much research into aftermarket options. Both machines use argo part # 101-35 for outer and 101-41 inner. It appears that most suggest using aftermarket # uc206-20 for outer and either ucx05-100 or ucx05-16 for inner. I believe the difference between the -100 and -16 is the way inside bore is measured, I know the 16 equals 16/16th ie 1" bore.
I have in my hand an aftermarket inner bearing ordered from argo adventure, Peer-UC206-16-AP. In the other hand I hold a UCX05-16, FYH. Both share same bore size and 62mm outside diameter but the width of the outer race is narrower on the 206-16 from argo adventure, but it has two grease channels as opposed to one on the ucx 05. Width difference I would say is negligible as it's only about 2mm, but being a spherical bearing I'm curious as to if it could possibly move on that axis enough to misalign the grooves or cause issues in anyway. The mounting flanges/gaskets may squish enough to accommodate the difference. Looking for opinions, experience's, alternatives. I'm probably over thinking this but I hate doing things half assed. Thanks all.
