I just purchased a Newt the Bold in great shape. I need to replace 2 single chains from differential to center axle and on front drive chain. I am pretty sure they a #50 but want to make sure. Any thoughts? Also I am not finding much out about this beast? Is it a rare one? Is it worth any money? It has a 12 hp Tecumseh on it that has good compression so I am confident that I will have it running. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
The Newts are fairly uncommon, I think we've tracked down about 5 or 6 of them altogether. The original drive chains are #50. Neat machines they sure are big. I'd love to see pictures of yours.
I do feel lucky to find such a rare gem. I have struggled to find out much about it. It is in remarkable shape. I've had to replace a few chains, easy. I am not getting spark from the Tecumseh HH120. I've deduced it needs the ignition coil. $175 to $225. I've really started cleaning up the outside and repainted the rims. I need one small patch in the floor on the driver side middle. No big deal. After I get the ignition coil it should be up and running. Can't wait. Can you tell me anything that you know about it please? Pics soon. Thanks.

I can't wait to see the photos. Maybe we should plan on a Newt The Bold gathering during the September Ashtabula this year. With Bud's, Mike's,Duke's, and mine it would be a good show!
Hey fellow Newt owners. Almost ready to fire this beast up. Had ignition module issues on the tecumseh HH120. Got a new ignition module and now determined I need a stator. The other thing I am going to need is the clutch cover for the motor. Without it I dont believe the clutch will function properly. Any thoughts and thanks.
