    T 20 Bands

What is considered a good deal state side on new bands, and are they all the same there is a fella not far from me advertising brand new carbon lined bands not sure what that means but claims that they are well over the 100 buck mark U.S side I want a set for my Max IV as well as my Super Chief.Cheers NCT

Max 6X6 here sells them for $120.74 each side. Not sure what Richards Relics sells them for. Doesn't say what coating that I could find. How much is your contact asking for them?

The older bands are red friction material. New ones are black material and grab real well. I've had a set relined with new material but haven't driven them yet. I only reline the newer backing that's .073" thick. Less chance to break the thicker ones. New bands are 110$ +

For relined. Some members on here were using the place that did them for him and posted where and how much. When Richard found out he forced his suplier to quit doing them for other people............so members here switched to Transmission Crafters in Albany Ga

    Yes sir, they are...

::EDIT::... I'm going to edit this Rob, since "yes" is the easiest answer. Some of the bands had somewhat thicker friction material and after wrapping around the drums a couple times, the ends of the plungers are a little deeper inside there bores during assembly. This is what I'm using on the Newt project. I don't see it as any problem, and I've tested the drivetrain out a bunch over the summer without any problems...

There are times with the new bands that I have to install adjustment bolts 1/4" longer. I've had factory t20s with the longer bolts also.
