    will a set of trax for a max2 fit on a max4

    No,the wheelbase is longer on the Max IV.

    It would be possible to shorten the tracks but you would have to be some careful on how much you cut off.There is a procedure to shorten the tracks when/if they ever stretch. You would need to know the precise measurement of Max II tracks and once shortened of course they never go on a Max IV again.

    I found a pair for sale for a max 2 and I got a max4. Was thinking of grabbing them but sounds like they won't work

    If I recall somebody got a set of factory tracks off a Max2 and made them fit a Max4. I don't know how in the world they did it as the rubber tracks off my green max2 were a very big problem for me to get off and then put back on my machine. I would call the factory track a snow/light mud track.
