Just had a problem with lower mounting bolts coming loose on t-20. Thought about tightening bolts and tack-welding bolt, lock-washer, and flat washer to the frame of the machine to keep bolt from backing out and leaving trans loose. Any thoughts about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
R.I. sells studs that can be lock-tited in the case and and then use a nylock nut or swedge nut....problem solved.
Can not put a flat washer under a lock washer,defeats the purpose.

I wouldn't spot weld bolts unless they never had to be removed again. If you have to remove the t20 to work on it that would be a pain to get them out. I would use the loctite and just check them everytime before u go riding. That should keep them in.

Torque the bolts to spec and use loctight blue.
The studs are a good idea.
I am guessing that your trans is comming out of the frame while you are riding making you think the nuts are comming loose. The trans will never stay in because of the torque of accelerating and braking unless there is a brace from the top front mounting bolts to the frame and/or belvilles washers on the studs. Hope this helps.

It is not shown here but i made a plate that covered the two studs for the transmission and drilled two more holes right below each of the t-20 mounting bolts and locked them down. This stops the transmission from pulling up when a lot of power is applied.
Guys i am not a guru on the attex machine but, mine came with straps that attached to the top 2 bolts of the t-20 and bolted to the frame of the machine and i am thinking that this was a factory thing but most people took them off. I plan to re-install mine since i have up graded the motor to 52 hp for added strength.
I can send you a picture of the actual plate if you like. This was one of Whipper's design upgrades and it works great and is very simple.
Type in (t20 hold down bracket) in the search box and check out the thread on what I made up to hold my transmission in place. Works great.
