So I reinstalled the full track system back on the Argo yesterday along with a full set of swim paddles. It swims, but slowly, none the less if you can live with a 1 to 1 1/2 MPH swim speed the full...
If you use six chains you won't have flotation for really soft snow but man you would have enough bite to take you anywhere but powder (P.S the half track with a bush track and optional metal cleats...
also it would be a interesting test to see if there is much difference in performance and ride smoothness with tracks on back wheels and chains on front jb
looks like a really good setup ! i think adding some stall mat rubber '' pads '' on the track would give some extra '' grip '' and smooth out the ride . nice job . jboy
I pulled my tracks off the other day, and found that I had 6 loose outer axle bearings. A couple of them were not too bad, and all of them would have been fine for a while. However, I had the parts and (I thought) a bit of time, before I was supposed to go for a ride with friends, so I replaced them. I ended up in a bit of a hurry. You won't find any white shop coats and clean hands in this vid, but if you want to see how to change a brng and seals on an Argo, you can check it out.

I found it suprisingly difficult to make this vid, but I think it turned out OK. I think I covered most of it, but did miss tightening the inner brng setscrews.
